I first "slung mud" around the age of 6. I started to sell my work professionally in 1992. I love the curvaceous forms of Greco-Roman and Chinese vases; the unearthly environments of Antonio Gaudi's Architecture; the whimsy of Dr Seuss' settings; the sheer playfulness of George Ohr's pots. These sources influence the shapes of my pots. My glazes are influenced by traditional Chinese Flambe', and Fulpers' use of glazes. Throughout the year I introduce new products on a regular basis. Craftsmanship is an important part of my process. I endeavor to reproduce my work in the highest quality possible. All of the work is made of high quality stoneware or porcelain clay body, which is high, fired to vitrification to gain durability and function. They are then glazed in bright vivid glazes. All of the work is signed and dated. David has a liberal arts degree from Hampshire college, with a concentration in architecture and design.
