Paintings in the rock garden series capture the essence of places that are conducive to quiet contemplation. The works contain paper rocks derived from imprints of lower layers of the painting and brought to the surface, a reference to the deep layers of the Earth where rocks originate. Actual rocks and minerals such as sand and marble dust are also added to the oil paint.
